Tuesday Edition February 17, 2026

Sometimes you just gotta listen. Listen to your surroundings; listen to your inner voice; listen to those who know what they’re doing. In our feature story, for example, a biosciences company is using sophisticated technology to listen to the animal noises of several different biomes in order to identify the presence of endangered species that could still be saved.

Meanwhile, we’re taking a closer look at the criticism being leveled at a director who listened to her 14-year-old self in choosing to reinterpret a classic novel for the silver screen. And finally, we’ll listen more closely to one of the most famous lines of the late, great Robert Duvall, who could layer an amazing amount of depth under the most blustering dialogue.

So pause with us and listen. You might just notice something you otherwise would have missed.
