As South by Southwest begins in Austin, we can’t help but notice that horror continues to loom large right before the Oscars, which saw a record number of nominations go to Sinners, a horror movie. In today’s newsletter, we’ve featured two of our big exclusive interviews from our special edition magazine published for SXSW, and both of them are for horror films: Hokum and Obsession.

That being said, we did ask Hokum star Adam Scott plenty of questions about Severance and Parks and Recreation, and the stars of Obsession were happy to share some fun behind-the-scenes stories with us. But these days, scary movies blend fear with lighthearted fun pretty seamlessly, despite their jump scares and disturbing storylines.
