We’ve always been great admirers of Leonardo DiCaprio’s work — I mean, who hasn’t? But it was a great privilege to finally talk to him in conjunction with such a powerful film like Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. In the excerpt from our interview below (also available on our website), he talks about the influence his father, George DiCaprio, has had on his career.

It’s clear the famed actor has chosen some great roles over the years, and perhaps part of that is thanks to his dad. “My father is kind of the ultimate source of wisdom for me. Not just his intelligence, but his perception and his ability to look at a certain subject matter through different lenses,” DiCaprio says. “I oftentimes still read scripts with him and ask him his thoughts because he’s got such a unique perspective… I can’t say enough about how much he’s influenced what I’ve done.”
