🦅 Peacemaker, Alien: Earth, and Other SDCC Highlights
Another SDCC is in the books, and we're looking back at some of the news items, announcements, and interviews that made the convention unique this year.
Tuesday Edition July 29, 2025
San Diego Comic-Con is in our rearview mirror, but we’re still reeling from some of the announcements made at the convention. Both the Alien and Predator franchises were represented by new entries in film and on television, but the possibilities of an Alien vs. Predator reimagining are up for debate. Predator: Badlands director Dan Trachtenberg responded to inquiries of a crossover with a cryptic “Wouldn’t it be cool?” whereas Alien: Earth showrunner Noah Hawley shunned a future battle, saying simply, “Can’t we all get along?”
At this point, we’ll take what we can get. The new properties have quite a few differences beyond one being on television and the other being on the big screen. For example, Predator: Badlands appears to have some interesting connections to past movies in its lineup while Alien: Earth chooses to ignore some of Ridley Scott’s prequel lore. Everyone, it seems, has a different approach when it comes to reboots and revivals!
