Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton Eat the Rich on the READY OR NOT 2 Cover of Den of Geek Magazine

March 9, 2026 - Austin, Texas - Den of Geek, the premier destination for fandom and pop culture enthusiasts, is heading back to Texas for SXSW, and we are bringing with us an absolutely packed special edition of Den of Geek magazine!

Kicking off a giant-sized preview of the movies, TV shows, music, and comedy descending onto the Lone Star State is an exclusive cover story all about READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME. In the the expansive inside look at the Radio Silence sequel, directors MATT BETTINELLI-OLPIN and TYLER GILLETT, as well as the starry cast of SAMARA WEAVING, KATHRYN NEWTON, SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR, and ELIJAH WOOD take us into their kitchen and reveal the secret recipes that go into cooking the rich. Apparently that includes a whole lot of fake blood!

“They must have thought some serial killer had lived there!” Weaving says of the damage done to the apartment she rented during production. “The bathtub was stained pink from all the blood coming out of my hair, and there were just trails of fake syrup blood everywhere. Fair enough, by the way, it’s really hard to get out. They were going, ‘You’re not getting your deposit back because that apartment is pink now.’ Yeah, sign of a good time.”

The filmmakers also unpack how the sister act combo of Weaving and Newton really influenced the film: “She is one of my favorite people, I’m obsessed with her,” Weaving says of Newton. “We very quickly fell into a sisterly relationship where I just was making fun of her all day and doing impressions of her on set, embarrassing her. I was like texting boys for her because I don’t understand how she doesn’t have a boyfriend. We need to remedy this.”

Also in the SXSW edition is a career-spanning conversation and profile with HOKUM star ADAM SCOTT.

“It’s funny, because I was in the States for the first two episodes [of Severance season two] and then I went off and made Hokum in Ireland,” Scott recalls. “When I came back, right when the finale aired, I could tell Severance had really broadened out. People usually recognize me from Parks and Rec or Step Brothers. You get to know the pockets of people that come up and say hello… Suddenly, it wasn’t just the demographics that I’m used to; it was everyone.”

The new issue also includes conversations with team behind the indie-horror breakout of the spring, OBSESSION, writer-director CURRY BARKER’s small-budgeted chiller that triggered a bidding war last fall after it premiered at TIFF, as well as preview of the next 25 years of tech as envisioned by futurists, analysts, and technologists with an eye on the horizon.

Den of Geek is also proud to announce its partnership with sister publication CRACKED, the legendary humor periodical that is coming back in a big way. The return of Cracked to the printed page will include a reversal back-cover exclusive for Netflix’s new raunchy animated series from the team of Big Mouth: MATING SEASON. This marks the first Cracked cover in 19 years, and will come complete with a preview of the SXSW event, CRACKED COMEDY CLUB IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NETFLIX’S MATING SEASON, which begins at 7 p.m. CST on Friday, March 13 at the Creek and the Cave.

Den of Geek will also be covering the festival in full force, complete with an interview and portrait studio, as well as attending various premieres, red carpets, technology and music activations, and more. So be on the lookout if you’re in Austin, especially for a free copy of the issue, which will be distributed for free by our ambassador team across downtown Austin and near other SXSW venues throughout the week!
