🌵 Remembering SXSW 2025 with the Best Exclusives from the Festival
Between our digital magazine and roundup article, we've got SXSW covered with our exclusive interviews and one-of-a-kind festival coverage.
Tuesday Edition March 18, 2025
Another year at SXSW has come to a close, and if you’ve ever been to any convention where fans come together to celebrate their favorite entertainment and the creatives behind it, you know that the aftermath can be kind of bittersweet. You’ve come down from the clouds after attending some eye-opening panels, spotting that celebrity you follow on social media, getting that autograph you always wanted, and meeting your fellow fans that really, you know, get you.
That’s kind of how we feel as we return from South by Southwest in the sunny climes of Austin, Texas to our offices in New York. We talked to a bunch of great people, discovered a lot about some of the best TV shows and movies coming soon, and even learned about the origins of woolly mice! We’ll be back on the circuit for gatherings like San Diego Comic-Con in the summer, but SXSW is just one of those unique festivals that you really miss when it’s over. We’ll see you next year, Austin!

SXSW ROUNDUP
Everything We Saw at SXSW 2025
SXSW 2025 was a whirlwind of delights, and Den of Geek was right in the thick of it. I mean, how do you even pick a favorite moment? Instead, let’s revisit some of the highlights, like #1 Happy Family USA, an animated sitcom from Ramy Youssef that daringly blends humor with poignant reflections on being Muslim-American post-9/11. We also delved into the intense world of American Sweatshop, where Lili Reinhart portrays a content moderator grappling with the internet's darkest corners. Marc Maron's documentary, Are We Good?, offered an intimate look into his podcasting journey, while LifeHack had us rethinking our online security with its gripping screenlife heist narrative.
But of course what makes SXSW stand out is its music scene. From the genre-blending sounds of Squid the Kid to the high-energy performances of Kap Bambino, the festival showcased a diverse array of artists pushing musical boundaries. And let's not forget the documentaries that left a mark, like Arrest the Midwife, shedding light on the challenges of homebirth midwives, and The Python Hunt, capturing Florida's wild quest to control invasive species.
And there’s so, so much more! Dive into our full coverage to get the complete scoop on all things SXSW 2025.

Reflecting on the season's opening scene — a flashforward to an active shooter situation at the resort — Fahy speculated that we might be in for multiple body bags this time around. Even Drop director Christopher Landon shared his impressions as a viewer himself!
When asked about reprising her role as Daphne, Fahy expressed eagerness to return, stating, "I love Daphne and Cameron, and I would super be down."
