Hulu’s Solar Opposites Graces Den of Geek Video Cover as Cast Says Goodbye

We’re saying goodbye to streaming’s most chaotic sci-fi comedy by making Solar Opposites the feature image on our latest digital cover story in partnership with Hulu. The 10th anniversary of Den of Geek magazine has been celebrated by our series of digital covers complete with video animation, which seems somehow appropriate for the final season of Hulu’s hit animated series. Come explore how the sci-fi satire of Solar Opposites charted an ambitious evolution from cynical to sincere.

The fact is, when Solar Opposites season 6 began production, the cast didn’t know that they’d be recording their characters’ final lines. However, a creeping sense of finality started to sneak up. “I just had this feeling,” recalls Sean Giambrone, the voice of Solar Opposites’ Yumyulack. Check out the reflections of Giambrone and his castmates Dan Stevens, Thomas Middleditch, and Mary Mack as they look back at six great years bringing these characters to life.

Solar Opposites Producers On Ending The Solars, The Wall, and SilverCops Stories

After six delightfully chaotic seasons, Solar Opposites is closing out its run with a finale that’s as heartfelt as it is hilarious. Co-creator Mike McMahan and executive producer Josh Bycel talk about shaking things up by taking away the Solars’ sci-fi conveniences, forcing Korvo, Terry, and the gang into a realm of creative-but-grounded chaos. This approach birthed pisodes like the fan-favorite “Family Memories VHS Mix Tape,” which went from what the networks called a mess to one of the show’s most emotional highlights.

The final season also ties up long-running stories from The Wall and SilverCops, offering satisfying closure while leaving the door open for more adventures. McMahan and Bycel promise the ending isn’t a tease. It’s a genuine farewell that still keeps the world of Solar Opposites alive. As McMahan puts it, “We just really wanted that ending to be in a world where everything can still come back… They started as aliens who didn’t even know that TV isn’t real and now they’ve ended up as a family.”

X-Men ’97 Producer Promises High Stakes for Season 2

The mutants can’t catch a break, and that’s just how we like it. Fortunately, Marvel Television and Animation boss Brad Winderbaum promises that X-Men ’97 season 2 will keep the stakes sky-high. “Mortality’s on the table and some of these characters want to do what’s right at any cost”, says Winderbaum, and after the devastation of Genosha and the apparent deaths of Gambit and Rogue in season 1, fans know anything can happen. Of course, “dead” doesn’t always mean gone in the X-Men universe, especially with Gambit already set to return as Apocalypse’s resurrected enforcer, Death.

That tease is just the beginning. Apocalypse himself will play a major role in season 2, with the finale’s time-scattered cliffhanger promising encounters in both ancient Egypt and the far future. And for those worried about X-Men ’97 ending too soon, Winderbaum says the show (and others like Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man) are built to run for multiple seasons, not just limited events. So while life may stay tough for Marvel’s mutants, fans can look forward to plenty more heroic fun on Disney+.

Trigun Stargaze Creative Team on Bringing Vash’s Story To Justice After 30 Years

Den of Geek sits down with the creative minds behind Trigun Stargaze, the highly anticipated continuation of Trigun Stampede that promises to bring Vash the Stampede’s story to a powerful close. Set two and a half years after Stampede’s cryptic finale, the new series takes everything fans loved and aims to push it even further. Original creator Yasuhiro Nightow says that while his manga tale ended years ago, seeing Studio Orange reinterpret his world through Stargaze feels like watching a brand-new story take shape.

Director Masako Sato and producers Yota Shirasu and Yoshiro Watanabe reveal how Stargaze got its name, its new direction, and how the team managed to outdo Stampede’s stunning visuals while working on both series at once. With composer Tatsuya Kato returning to remix Trigun’s iconic sound for this final chapter, the creative team promises a bold and visually spectacular sendoff for anime’s favorite wandering gunman.
