One of the items up for grabs in our upcoming eBay Live auction is a set of two copies of The Origins of Marvel Comics by the legendary Stan Lee, and it got me thinking about origin stories and new beginnings. The news below about the possibility of Brainiac finally making it to the big screen in the next Superman movie, for example really makes you wonder how it took this long for such an important villain to make a new start for himself in film.

It’s not always easy, however, to create a worthy homage without indulging in nostalgia. Just ask any director tasked with expanding the Star Wars universe! Fortunately, it looks like The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is a film that itself spun off from a TV series, might be recapturing some of that early George Lucas magic, if the trailer is any indication. If James Gunn can do it with Superman, why can’t Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau find success with Baby Yoda and his bounty hunter companion as well?
