There’s something comforting about recognizing something familiar in a movie or TV show. For a movie like The Naked Gun, it’s all about having the humor resonate with what made the original films so kooky and absurd. That’s not easy to fake, but fortunately, our reviewer found much to enjoy about the reboot and Liam Neeson’s performance.

For a TV show like Twisted Metal, or any video game adaptation for that matter, the secret lies in bringing elements of the game into the show without forcing it. While many viewers who never played the source material wouldn’t recognize the references anyway, hardcore fans want to see a faithful representation of a character they’ve enjoyed. Again, our article below indicates that, thankfully, the show has been largely successful in doing so.
